  • Family Update..

Well, I figured it was time for a family update before the holiday's are here. We are all doing well. Since my surgery it's been a rocky road. Right now we are trying to get the girls settled back in and back the their schedule.

Kayleigh: Well, she is doing well. Honestly she hasn't been sick in a while, which is a huge relief for me. She is in preschool one day a week and loves it. It's her time to be by herself and be an individual outside of the house. I'm amazed at what she does daily. I feel like she does something new and bright daily. She's singing songs now, and she's even started singing her abc's. She's 3 months away from being 3. Although, she is truly my child in the stubbornness department. Right now she's just having a hard time of adjusting since I've been gone for almost a week and all the sudden Mommy is back and making decisions for her again.

Kamryn: What isn't my precious baby doing??? She's standing by herself at times and also taking steps by herself. She's now not afraid to say MAMA, one, or fifteen thousand times a day. She's still my sweet baby girl who wants her mommy to snugggle her, she's just busier. Her most recent thing is wanting to eat table food just like us. She's doing well with chewing and swallowing now. All in all, I can't believe that my baby will be a year old in just two months.

Edwin: Edwin is still Edwin. LOL. He's doing great in college. He's super busy though. It's amazing how he still makes time for us. He's still working his two jobs, but we are looking forward to having the house paid off in august of next year. He's doing great with managing his health. He's also really tired, but he still keeps going. I really admire what he's doing for us and our family.

Me: Well, I'm healing up pretty well. I am tired come the evening. But, I'm alive and in relative good health, and that's a lot to be thankful to God for. I've been out of work since Thursday of last week, and I will go back to work next Monday. I honestly can't wait. I've cleaned my house from top to bottom and find myself bored b/c I've done all the work to be done. :(  I'm busy though the rest of the week. Tomorrow My SIL will take Kayleigh to preschool, and I still need to find someone to pick her up, or I will have to go and do it. Tomorrow night my mother and father in law are coming to sit with the girls so that I can go to the New Moon midnight showing with all my girlfriends. I really look forward to that. Friday I have to go to employee health and get evaluated and released to go back to work. I know I have something on Saturday, but can't remember it right now. Then Church on Sunday. WHEW. At least my housework for the week is done.

    That is all.

  • My Gallbladder Surgery

So, my update. I recently went into the hospital on November 12th, 2009 with severe pain in my side and vomitting. They at first tried to tell us that it was constipation, but when they hooked me up to the monitor, my bp was high, along with my heart rate. Which of course, is a tell tale sign of pain. So, they decided to draw some blood. That came back with my bili-ruben level was up. So they decided to do an ultrasound bc of the area the pain was in. That was done, and they saw that I had "sludge" in my gallbladder. They then decided to keep me in the clinical decision unit in the emergency room overnight, and do a hydascan (which is a nuclear test done in radiology, which has a nuclear dye injected into you to watch live video of your inner body parts and how they are functioning.) We were taken back to the cdu, and then the dr. came back and said that it was in fact my gallbladder, and that he needed to consult with the surgeons about taking it out. I was admitted again for another night, and scheduled for surgery at 10:00a.m. the next morning. They did the surgery. I mean I was out. I remembers struggling to wake up after surgery, then being awake. I remember asking for my husband. The nurses said that I would see him soon. I was taken back up to my room. I was given a brief run down of the incision sites, and how I would be sore for a week or more after. They discharged me around 8:00p.m. Friday evening. I went home, and didn't sleep well, and got sick and vomitted up bile a lot. My mom ended up taking me back to the Emergency Room, and they readmitted me to the Surgery floor for another night. I had mrs. angie as my nurse, which I was happy about. They did have me walk. They were like WALK. WALK. WALK. It helps you heal faster. I was discharged Sunday around 12:00p.m. We went home and went to bed. Trinka was over the next morning helping me and getting the girls. So, I took the new Nausea medicine that I was prescribed. An hour later I felt my whole right side of my face droop and drop down like a stroke patient. We ended up rushing back to the Emergency Room, and they had us sit and wait. My face would  relax, then tense up after a few minutes. Trinka went up to ask them about getting us seen, and then my face tensed up and I was so much in pain. I went up the desk and they brought us right back to be seen in triage. They had us in a room within five minutes. They laid me on the bed and said that I was like the 1 in 500 patients that has dystonia after taking that particular medicine. I know I was in so much pain, and the person who does insurance wanted things from me that I could barely answer, and I was in so much pain. She ticked me off. Then the Nurses were putting a line in my arm, and pumping me with first a muscle relaxer, then the medicine to counteract the medicine that I had taken. I felt a whole lot better after all that treatment. We went home within an hour. I then took myself off the majority of medicines. I've done better since, but those were the days from hell.

    Update..Wonderful things..

Well, I got through with the Dr. this morning for my checkup, since I'm on the adipex weight loss drug. As most of you know, we moved two months ago. So, honestly I've been off of the medicine. But when I weighed in this morning I'd lost another 11lbs! They were proud and said that I must be doing something right. They also said that it was kind of good that I went off of it for a month b/c they usually do that to their patients so that your body does not get used to the drug, and not have as good of an effect on the body as it should. I learned a lesson though...I have a sinus infection and I bought a decongestant and it made my heart race. I didn't know that adipex does not mix with decongestants. It didn't say anything in the pamphlet or info. But luckily I stopped it when I went to the dr. yesterday before it could do any damage.  So, I'm on the right track.. I am going to go work out tonight around 4, then go grocery shopping, and pick up prescriptions..

Kayleigh is going to start Pre-School next Thursday! We are all so excited for her!! We went and took a tour of the building today and met her teachers and class. She even got to play with the class outside while I went and got all the paperwork needed for her enrollment. Kayleigh loved it so much! When I came back she was playing with the kids and having a blast! She wouldn't come to me when we needed to leave. I was holding her sister, so it was difficult to grab her. One of her teachers ended up helping me get her to the front door away from the play area so that she would leave. I do think it will be a really good thing for Kayleigh to get interaction with kids her own age, and get some extra activity, and independence. I personally loved the facility, and loved the security that goes along with it. The people and staff were all nice and very welcoming.

Kamryn is now 9 months. She has 6 teeth, and weighs 18 lbs. She is growing so fast! Her hair is even lightening up even more. It looks like she is going to have strawberry blonde hair. Aww... I have a blonde child. She is cruising now, and in to absolutely every thing. The mobile on her crib is electronic and she now stands up and turns it on when she wants to hear music. Isn't that something? She plays with her sister really well, but on the occasion that Kayleigh is being too rough or forcing her to do something; she lets out a squeal and bites her. I know that I shouldn't laugh at it, but Kayleigh really does harass her sister to no end. I do have a feeling that soon, I'm going to be tag teamed.  Kamryn is eating two jars of stage 2 baby food a day, and eating more and more solid table food too. I'm proud of her and I'm also sad, she's growing up too fast.

Me: Well, I'm doing okay, except for a Sinus Infection b/c of this weather. I'm still working Part Time for Health Directions. In January I start back with College. In November I meet with my Advisor, and have to re-take the entrance Math Exam. Bummer. I hope they don't make me start all over again with my Math classes. It does look like I'm going to have more than enough with my student aid to fully pay my tuition.  I'm excited and scared at the same time. This is a big step for me. I worry about the girls, how my being in school and having to study and do homework all the time and how that is going to affect them. I know that we will manage, but it's still scary nonetheless. Pray for me please.

Edwin: Well, he's working himself to the bone. He's still with Columbia, and he's working for Mack Pest Control on his days off. He's very busy and almost the only time that he actually get's to be home, is on a Sunday if he's off from the Fire Station. Pray for him. He's still getting used to all of the work load. He's doing well with the diabetes as well. I'm proud of him for keeping himself healthy. The two jobs help tremendously, but it does take it's toll on him. He's also in school full time for his Fire Science Degree. He comes home Eats, Showers, and helps me with the girls, then does his school work, then goes to bed. I know when he has that degree the second job won't be necessary anymore, but the poor guy needs a vacation. Any Ideas??

We are homeowners now. It's nice. Now we have to worry about repairs and keeping up the house.  We are shopping around for homeowners insurance, and repair workers. We just paid off Edwin's car, and mine will be paid off before the end of next month, so things are looking up in that regard. We still need to fix my van, and hopefully that will be soon. It's true that older vehicles always need some kind of work done on them... Edwin's car needs a solenoid, and a new CV axle, it's popping when I turn the wheel.  All of those repairs are reasonably priced, and Edwin can do if he's ever home, so hoping to fix those issues soon.

Overall, we are doing well. We've been married 3 years now, and have two beautiful girls to show for it, and it's wonderful. Life is good. We are so thankful for so many things.

Thanks for taking the time to check in on us.

  • A massive update..

So, we've moved. We now live right down the road from the new walmart. We are loving being so close in now. It takes half the time to get to work, and our friends and families houses. So, yeah, it's nice. We will own this mobile home in just a year. It is in pretty good condition over all. We are going to do improvements as we can though. Starting with floors, Guest bathroom's tub/shower. Then Kitchen cabinets, and countertops. Then the master bathrooms tub. We are going to put a Jacuzzi tub in there, and eventually replace the shower. We are just going to make it the best that it can be. The plan is to live here for five years, then buy our first real house. We will rent this out for $700-$750 per month. With an extremely high deposit.

But Edwin got a second job with a pest control company. We've more than doubled our income. It's estimated to be at $60,000. after this month. He's also started his online courses for college. So, I'm just trying to make sure that the house is clean, and his clothes are done. I'm also making sure dinner is ready when he gets home. It's okay so far, but we are only in our first week. The pest control company also gave Edwin a truck. He drives it everywhere, and they pay for his gas. My van unfortunately has seen better days. It's o2 sensor is bad, and the air went out. So, I've been driving Edwin's car, and yes I cleaned it completely out the other day. :) The gas bill is really nice. I filled the car up the middle of last week, and I'm just down to a half a tank. yeah, I'm happy. I want to get my van fixed in the next month, but I'm enjoying the small gas bills.

I'm doing well. I'm just trying to make sure that the house is the cleanest that it can be. ( All except our room. I just never quite get to that) One of these days I'm going to really get all of that done. I swear it. But We are doing well. Hoping to get cable to come out in the next two weeks and set us up. We already have windstream and home phone. We would rather calls to our cells in the evening from 4-8p.m. because we use that line for our fax for Edwin's work.

The girls are good. I've been taking them to the park the last two days. Kayleigh has actually taken her nap because she was worn slap out. :) That's nice. It's so pretty and decent with the weather outside that I can't help but get them outside. Kamryn is now pulling up to her knees. My little girl is growing up. She weights 22 pounds now. Wow. She's a happy baby and loves to just be on the floor surrounded by toys. Kayleigh is 31 pounds now. She's so tall! My dance dreams for her are shot now, Edwin wants to put her in soccer, so that's the way that it's supposed to be. :) They are great.

The holidays are coming up, and we will be settled when they come around. I really have to get Kayleigh's fall/winter wardrobe soon! Kayleigh needs new shoes too. Kamryn is set! If only you could all see her 12 month clothes alone..lol.. But seriously, the end of this month I have to start Christmas shopping. I have two kids to shop for now!

    That's my update for now!!

    Oh,
Here's the pictures of the new washer and dryer we will be getting the end of this month! They are going to be in white.

  • Changes..

    Changes:

So we have been making some changes lately. We found out that Edwin has been accepted to college starting this fall. He is going for his bachelore's degree in Fire Science. He'll be doing online classes. He already has a ton of credits for his degree, and we are looking forward to him getting this done. It will be two years with him doing the maximum amount of credit hours that he can per semester.

I'm doing great. I have been on that medicine a week now.  I've lost 8 pounds so far. So that makes me really happy. I cannot wait to be smaller again! Edwin tells me he already is noticing changes in my shape. :) I've also had a lot more energy. I've been doing the housework, and been more motivated.

Kamryn is now crawling. It looks so exaggerated! She's starting to harrass Kayleigh, and take her toys. You can imagine my two year olds reaction. LOL. She's like oh no! Mommy sissy takin ma toys!! It's so cute!

Kayleigh is doing well. She's really gotten in to things lately, and climbing. She's so much like me though, she's always tripping over her own feet and getting hurt. It scares me to death. Her latest stunt was climbing her dresser and falling and hitting her head imbetween her eyes. She was so swollen. It just went down, thank God. But she still has the dot between her eyes. Her vocabulary has expanded too. I made a mistake and let her watch too much noggin though, she flips out when the tv is off or not on one of her shows.

Now for the changes part. We got ticked at time warner. So our internet and phone are off. I assume cable will be off soon. We are looking at DirecTV. They have really good rates and will save us over a hundred a month. :) We have cells, so why do we need a home phone???

    That's all for now. :) :) :) :)
